How to delete profiles
When you choose to delete one or multiple profiles from the Customer Data Platform, automatically all connected events will be deleted as well. When, in a later stage, this person enters the CDP again, no historically data will be connected again.
So with this function you can live up to the GDPR rule "Right to be forgotten". More about the GDPR rules overhere.
Delete a single profile
Open the Customer Data Platform on the Profile Insights tab
Use the Query editor (filter) to search for the specific person/profile you want to delete
When found, click on the profile and hereby open this person his profile overview page
- Go to the three grey dots in the right upper corner of the profile overview page
Click on "Delete" and confirm by clicking again on Delete
Delete multiple profile
Open the Customer Data Platform on the Profile Insights tab
Use the Query editor (filter) to search for the group of people you want to delete
When found, save this filter as a segment
When Segment is saved, click in the right upper corner on "Actions"
Click on "Delete all profiles" and confirm by clicking again on Delete
If the segment contains a large amount of profiles, deleting profiles will be performed as a background task so you can continue using the Customer Data platform. Then it will take a while to actually delete the profiles. When going to your segment on the segments overview page, you will see the count will be degrading with every refresh.
