Explanation of standard internal MMC integrations. (Campaigns, Email Campaigns, Pages)

Goal

This article explains how you can enable standard integrations so that data events from the different MMC applications (Campaigns, Email Campaigns, Pages) are sent to the CDP.

Who can it help?

  • Technical consultants setting up CDP
  • Customer Success Managers
  • Professional Services
  • Customers that want to use different events to set up new segments or workflows.

The different events of the standard adapters.

Before you start, decide which adapter you want to enable. Note that when enabling a standard MMC adapter, all data events from that integrated application will be sent to CDP. Below you find a list of all events per standard adapter that will be sent after enabling:

Campaigns Events in CDP:

  • Message Clicked
  • Message Sent
  • Message Failed
  • Message Read
  • Message Delivered
  • Message Unsubscribed

Notes:

  • it depends on the channel whether you receive the Read event, for example for SMS we do not receive that event since that information is not available.
  • Mobile phonenumber must be a key profile property when enabling this adapter.

Email Campaigns Events in CDP:

  • Email Blacklisted
  • Email Bounced
  • Email Clicked
  • Email Complained
  • Email Delivered
  • Email Opened
  • Email PermanentBounced
  • Email Sent
  • Email Unsubscribed
  • Email Viewed In Browser

Note: Email address must be a key profile property when enabling this adapter.

Pages events in CDP:

  • Page Clicked
  • Page Visit
  • Payment Failed (in case Payment buttons are enabled on Page)
  • Payment Generation (idem)
  • Payment Success (idem)

Note: at least one key profile property must be applied in each Page to be able to correctly profile events in the CDP.

Steps you need to take to enable the standard integrations.

Step 1: find the integration list

In the CDP, go to sources. In the list of Integrations, you'll find all integrations that are already been enabled.

Step 2: add the integration
Click on the blue 'plus' symbol in the upper right corner.

Then you'll see a display in which you can select what (new) integration you want to enable. Here you can click on the Campaigns, Email Campaigns, and Pages adapter.

Step 3 wait and see!

Once you have selected the new integrations, the system will be busy for a short while to set up the integration. After it's done, you will find the new integration in the list of integrations that you find at step 1.

Also, you will find the corresponding events below 'Event Insights', and in the filters to create segments.

Step 4: all set to use your CDP events!

This is all you need to do in enabling the standard adapters. Now you can start using the events for creating segments, workflows, dashboards, etc in the CDP. Good luck!

Examples of relevant segments / workflows for which you can use the CDP events from the standard MMC integrations:

  • Segment of all people that you want to send a 2nd campaign to remind them
    • EmailCampaigns: Email Sent at least 1 AND Email Opened at most 0
      • you can specify a specific Email campaign ID or day range in which it has been sent.
  • Segment of all people that are Permanently bounced, to delete these from CDP and create space:
    • EmailCampaigns: Email Campaign Permanently Bounced at least 1
  • Workflow to send a reminder SMS after 1 day when someone has not completed a payment via Pages:
    • Pages: Payment Generated at least 1 AND Pages: Payment Success at most 0.
  • Workflow to send a triggered thank you message after a successful payment via Pages:
    • Pages: Payment Success
