Step by step guide
A page can be included in the body of a WhatsApp message by following the steps outlined below.
Step 1 - WhatsApp Template
The first step has to be taken when requesting a new Whatsapp template. In the body add a text variable, the exact name of the variable is not important. In the example below the variable is simply named 'page'.
Step 2 - Page ID
To include the correct page in the WhatsApp you need the Page ID. You can find the Page ID by opening the page in the page editor and selecting the ID from the URL. The ID is the GUID in the URL between '/pages/ ' and '/sections/'. Please see the example below.
Step 3 - Campaigns
Create a new WhatsApp campaign in the Campaigns app and select the approved message from step 1. When filling the variables in the approved message take care to fill the variable for the page with a pagelink. This pagelink will be replaced by a unique URL when the message is send. The pagelink has the following template: "[[page:" + <page id obtained in step 2> + "]]" without capitals and spaces. Below you can find an example of a pagelink and a screenshot of an example message with (another) pagelink filled for the variable.
[[page:51b9542c-770d-4f72-b5fb-0df4f6bd28ce]]
If the variable for the page has been filled you can proceed within the Campaigns app to create and send the message. If you would go back to the step in which the variables are filled, you can see that the pagelink is recognised as such. Please see the example below in which the variable field has been filled with the green 'Page' mergetag.
When sending the message, each recipient receives a unique URL in the body of the message, as pictured below. Currently there is no scalable solution to provide the uniique pagelink in a call to action button at the end of a WhatsApp message.
