As a customer, I want to choose the sender which is showing on top of my message at the receivers.

Channel: SMS
Yes. It is possible to set your own sender name (Sender ID) in an SMS campaign. But every destination country has it's own rules and regulations in the possibility of adjusting the Sender name of your SMS campaign. Rules do change sometimes.
The possibilities for a couple of countries:
- The Netherlands
- Both numeric as textual senders are possible
- Minimum of 3 - maximum of 11 characters for textual senders. ( this is for all countries )
- Maximum of 15 characters for a numeric sender. (incl 0031)

- Belgium
- All sender names will be overwritten by the shortcode 8850
- No special registration needed
- France
- Textual senders are supported, the text 'STOP 36047' will always be added to the content of the SMS message.
- If you don't want that STOP message to be added to the content, a special shortcode is needed. Contact [email protected] or your dedicated CM contactperson for help.

- Germany
- Both numeric as textual senders are possible
- No special registration needed
- UK
- Both numeric as textual senders are possible
- No special registration needed
- South-Africa
- All Sender names will be overwritten by a spcial local number.

- USA & Canada
- To send messages to USA and Canada recipient you need to have an own local number. These can be bought in the CM platform. Contact [email protected] or your dedicated CM contactperson for help.
- Registration is needed
For every country the sender name must make sense for the receivers and tell something about the company sending the message. Generic Sender names (e.g. 'Info', 'Support') will be filtered and seen as SPAM or smishing.
When you compose your message in the web interface you are asked to select or create your own sender id. When sending to certain countries (e.g. Belgium) you are obliged to select a shortcode because it is not possible to deliver using an alphanumerical sender id. Please see below for a preliminary overview.
Channel: WhatsApp
The sendername of a WhatsApp campaign is determined by the channel you choose to send with.
You activate one (or multiple) WhatsApp profiles in your CM account, connected to a Facebook Business Manager ID. Sending a messages, is connected to a certain profile. So no free choice with every message.
Channel: Push
The sendername of a Push campaign, is the app from which the push message comes from. Push is activated for a speicific mobile app, and will be pushed via this app. So no free choice here.
